The Bank of Albania is closed on Saturdays and Sundays as well as on the following official holidays:

January 1, 2024: New Year’s Holidays
January 2, 2024: New Year’s Holidays
March 14, 2024: Summer Day
March 15, 2024: Rest Day ***
March 22, 2024: Nevruz Day
March 31, 2024: Catholic Easter Sunday*
April 10, 2024: Eid al-Fitr**
May 1, 2024: International Workers’ Day
May 5, 2024: Orthodox Easter Sunday*
June 16, 2024: Eid al-Adha**
September 5, 2024: Canonization Day of Saint Teresa
November 28, 2024: Flag and Independence Day
November 29, 2024: Liberation Day
December 8, 2024: National Youth Day*
December 25, 2024: Christmas

* In cases where an official holiday falls on a weekly rest day (Saturday and/or Sunday), the holiday is moved to the following working days (Monday and Tuesday). The Bank of Albania is closed on April 1, 2024, May 6, 2024, June 17, 2024, and December 9, 2024.

** Note: The dates for Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr may change according to the lunar calendar. If there are any changes, you will be notified with a second announcement.

*** Based on the Government Decision to designate Friday, March 15, 2024, as a rest day.
